It’s starting again,
At first it just kind of
Settles in.It finds a place in my ears
To tell me I’m not worth it,
To whisper all of my biggest fears.It crawls under my tongue,
Stapling my lips together
Easing down into my lungs.It plays the drums on my heart,
Causing the rest of my body to panic
And my brain to fall apart.It grabs a spot in my brain,
Leaking poison on my thoughts,
And slowly allowing myself to go insane.It uses salt water to blur my sight
So instead of love
All I see is an oncoming fight.It uses my stomach as a stress ball,
Gripping it just to release,
And then just letting it fall.It runs through my fingers,
Causing them to shake,
And then it just lingers.It suffocates and destroys me
Without an invitation
It throws out what I think I should be
And sets up an imitation
It controls every ounce of my being
And I just want it to stop
But it’s breaks are fleeting
And it will always end up on top.
